19-year-old Adams Hamidu sentenced 20 years for robbery in Upper West

The Upper West Regional Police Command has successfully secured a conviction against 19-year-old Adams Hamidu, also known as Gyida, who has been sentenced to 20 years in prison with hard labour for his role in a robbery.

In February 2025, Gyida, alongside an accomplice wearing a mask, carried out a robbery, stealing a blue Honda motorcycle valued at GH¢20,000, a Tecno mobile phone worth GH¢1,300, and cash amounting to GH¢10,800.
Gyida was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation on June 1, 2025, at Domowa, in the Wa West District, following thorough investigations.
