Police in the Bono East Region say they have arrested three people in connection with the killing of the Queenmother of Abamba near Amantin in the Atebubu area.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, 10 March, the police said the arrests followed an intelligence-led operation.

The suspects were named as Rafiu Haruna, Muftawu Adamu and Michael Owusu Spermi.

The case relates to the death of Nana Serwaa Asaamaa Kuma Gyan, who was shot at her residence in the Methodist Church area of Atebubu on 25 February 2026.

Police said the three suspects remain in custody and are assisting investigators.

Authorities added that efforts are continuing to identify and arrest any other persons believed to have been involved in the killing.
