Police in Ghana have arrested media personality Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, widely known as Counsellor Lutterodt, over remarks made in a viral video linked to the late highlife musician Daddy Lumba.

According to a police statement, the comments were considered offensive and likely to disturb public order.

Investigators say the remarks allegedly encouraged some young people to go to the late musician’s residence, prompting concerns about a possible breach of the peace.

The police said Mr Lutterodt has since been granted bail.

He is due to appear in court on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

Authorities say he will face charges including offensive conduct conducive to a breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960, as well as incitement to violence under the Criminal Offences Act and the Public Order Act, 1994.
