The students, Benedict Appiah and Bilal Mamid of the Swedru School of Business (SWESBUS), were each admitted to bail in the sum of GH¢10,000 with two sureties.
An Agona Swedru District Court has granted bail to two students accused of assaulting a fellow student during an inter-schools sports festival.
The students, Benedict Appiah and Bilal Mamid of the Swedru School of Business (SWESBUS), were each admitted to bail in the sum of GH¢10,000 with two sureties.
Both appeared before the court on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, and pleaded not guilty to two charges: conspiracy to commit assault and assault.
Presiding judge His Worship Victor Kusi adjourned the matter to 17 April 2026 for the next hearing.
The latest decision follows an earlier court appearance in which the two were denied bail and remanded into police custody.
The case is linked to a widely shared video that allegedly showed the pair attacking a student of Obrachire Senior High Technical School during a sporting event in Agona Swedru.
Police say investigations are still ongoing into the role of a third person, John Amo, who has not yet been put before the court.
Preliminary findings suggest he may have been trying to shield the victim during the incident.
