The Ghana Police Service has arrested an off-duty police officer, Constable Smith Gyeke who is into hail riding services for shooting a man to death at Koans Estate near Kuntunse.

The incident, which occurred on August 18 followed an alleged confrontation between him and the deceased, Stanley Ahadzi over a disputed fare.

A statement by the Ghana Police Service states that the suspect is being held in police custody for investigation while the deceased's body has been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue.

Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has meanwhile visited the deceased’s family and assured them that justice would be pursued against the officer involved.
