The Ho Sector Command of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has disposed of illegally imported goods confiscated from a trader in Asikumah.

A total of 680 cartons of Vody Vodka energy drinks were destroyed under the supervision of the Ho Municipal Environmental Office, with officials from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and the National Investigation Bureau present to monitor the process.

Sector Commander Mr. Ernest Annan-Prah explained to the Ghana News Agency that the seizure occurred because the trader lacked the legal authorization to import the products.

"Across the nation, only one individual holds the license to import these items," he clarified.

Mr. Annan-Prah encouraged citizens to comply with the law and avoid illegal practices.

He also praised the vigilance of customs officers and appealed to the public for continued cooperation in combating the unlawful importation of goods like Vody Vodka energy drinks and other contraband items.
