Interior Ministry revises Nkwanta South curfew hours
In a statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the Ministry said the revision was made on the advice of the National Security Council and by Executive Instrument.
The Ministry of the Interior has eased the curfew hours imposed on parts of the Nkwanta South Municipality in the Oti Region.
The curfew will now run from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each day, effective Monday, July 13, 2026.
The new hours replace the earlier restriction of 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., which was introduced on June 19, 2026, following renewed tensions in the area.

The affected communities include Keri, Abrewanko, Abrewanko Junction, Nyambo, Nyambo Junction, Shari, Kromase, Power, Nyakoma, Odomi, Bonakye and Nkwanta.
The Ministry said the measure forms part of ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the municipality.
It appealed to chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, the youth and residents to exercise restraint.
The Ministry also urged the affected communities to use peaceful and lawful means to resolve their differences.
Despite the revision of the curfew hours, the ban on the possession of arms, ammunition and offensive weapons remains in force.
The Ministry warned that anyone found carrying arms or offensive weapons in the affected communities would be arrested and prosecuted.
Residents have been urged to cooperate with security agencies as efforts continue to restore lasting peace in the area.
