Mason jailed six months for stealing motorbike at Tweapiase
The convict, Emmanuel Appiah, pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea before the court presided over by Madam Dora Jackson.
A District Court at Pakyi has sentenced a mason to six months in prison with hard labour after he admitted stealing a motorbike worth GH¢12,000.
The convict, Emmanuel Appiah, pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea before the court presided over by Madam Dora Jackson.
According to the prosecution, the theft happened on 28 April 2026 at about 1:30pm, when the complainant, Prince Appiah, parked his unregistered wine-coloured motorbike in the corridor of his house at Tweapiase and went to sleep.
Chief Inspector Christian Amartey told the court that a witness, who was the complainant’s landlord, later saw the accused enter the house and ride away with the motorbike.
The witness raised an alarm and confronted Appiah, who, the court heard, could not give any satisfactory explanation for having the bike.
He was initially arrested at the scene, and the matter was later reported to the police, who rearrested him for further investigation.
Police said the accused admitted the offence in his caution statement, after which he was formally charged and taken to court.
