National Security intercepts 12 containers filled with cash, suspected gold bars

Officials have disclosed that two of the targeted containers remain unaccounted for, but efforts are underway to locate them using state security tracking systems.

A significant operation by National Security has led to the confiscation of of twelve 20-foot shipping containers packed with large sums of U.S. dollars and Ghana cedi notes.

Acting on intelligence, security forces tracked the containers to a warehouse in Sapeiman, located within the Ga South Municipality. Upon raiding the facility, authorities uncovered stacks of U.S. dollars hidden inside wooden boxes filled with cement.

Further inspection of additional boxes in the warehouse revealed more currency stashed in secret compartments covered with plywood and sealed using charcoal.

Officials have disclosed that two of the targeted containers remain unaccounted for, but efforts are underway to locate them using state security tracking systems.

Additionally, a manhunt has been launched for four individuals believed to be involved, including a key suspect known only as "Alhaji."

In a shocking twist, the warehouse search also uncovered what appeared to be gold bars, counterfeit cedi notes in ₵50 and ₵100 denominations, and a stash of fake Ghana Army uniforms and boots.

Authorities continue to investigate the case as efforts intensify to track down the missing containers and apprehend those responsible.
