Police arrest self-styled marriage counsellor over child abuse material
Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George disclosed the news in a Facebook post on 8 March 2026.
A self-styled international marriage counsellor, Rev Dr Ebenezer Conduah, has been arrested in a joint operation by the Cyber Security Authority and the Ghana Police Service over allegations linked to child sexual abuse material. The news was disclosed by Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George in a Facebook post on 8 March 2026.
According to the minister, the suspect was picked up in the early hours of 6 March, with investigators alleging offences under Sections 62 and 63 of the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038). He also said the alleged abuse involved a 17-year-old and had continued for about four years.
Mr George said investigators had already recovered digital material they believe is tied to the case, including recordings and online uploads allegedly traced to the accused on international pornography platforms.
The minister added that Conduah has already appeared before a court and has been remanded for three weeks to allow investigators to complete their work.
Praising the Cyber Security Authority team, Mr George said enforcement of Ghana’s cyber laws would continue regardless of the profile of those accused.
