Police declare man wanted as search for missing car seller deepens
The case began after Amarh was reported missing on 7 April 2026, having failed to return home from what police say was a business meeting linked to the planned sale of his car.
Police in Accra have named Wisdom Tetteh as a wanted man as investigations continue into the disappearance of 27-year-old Theophilus Ashitey Amarh.
The case began after Amarh was reported missing on 7 April 2026, having failed to return home from what police say was a business meeting linked to the planned sale of his car.
According to investigators, he left home on 6 April intending to sell his Hyundai Elantra. Police believe he was connected to a supposed buyer through Wisdom Tetteh, who later invited him to a residence at Saasabi in Accra.
That, police say, was the last confirmed point at which the missing man was seen.
His failure to return led relatives to file a missing person complaint with the Oyibi District Police Command, setting off an investigation that has since taken a more serious turn.
On 10 April, officers revisited the suspect’s residence as part of intelligence-led enquiries. During that search, they reportedly found suspected bloodstains in one of the rooms, heightening fears that the disappearance may involve foul play.
The scene was then examined by the National Crime Scene Management Team with support from the CID’s Anti-Armed Robbery Unit.
Police say a broader search involving residents and local authorities has also been carried out, but Amarh has still not been found.
Investigators now suspect that Wisdom Tetteh may have left Ghana for Togo. Police say steps are already underway, including contact with INTERPOL, to trace and arrest him.
The Accra Regional Police Command says it is pursuing all available leads and has appealed to the public to share any credible information that could help locate either the suspect or the missing man.
