Supreme Court not part of July 14 court excusal of lawyers- Judicial Secretary
In a circular dated July 12, the Judicial Secretary, Musah Ahmed, said the Chief Justice had directed that the Supreme Court should be excluded from the court attendance excusal granted in connection with the 2026 Law Week Celebration.
The Supreme Court of Ghana will sit as scheduled on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, despite an earlier notice excusing legal practitioners from court attendance on that day.
In a circular dated July 12, the Judicial Secretary, Musah Ahmed, said the Chief Justice had directed that the Supreme Court should be excluded from the court attendance excusal granted in connection with the 2026 Law Week Celebration.
Lawyers with cases before the apex court are therefore required to appear and prosecute their matters, notwithstanding the Conference and Continuing Professional Development programme scheduled as part of the celebration.
The Judicial Service clarified that all cases listed before the Supreme Court on July 14 will proceed as planned.
The latest directive follows an earlier notice issued on July 2 concerning the temporary excusal of lawyers from court attendance.
