The Tema Regional Police Command has secured the conviction of two men involved in a robbery and rape incident that occurred on September 27, 2025, at Okushibli, along the Apollonia–Afienya road.

According to police investigations, the 19-year-old victim, a hairdresser, hired Nicholas Tetteh, a motorbike rider, to transport her to Afienya. However, Tetteh allegedly conspired with Joseph Tetteh and another accomplice to attack her midway through the journey.

The suspects reportedly dragged the victim into a nearby bush, where she was sexually assaulted by two of the men and robbed of her iPhone XR and a handbag containing GH₵150.

The matter was reported to the Zenu–Atadeka District Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU). The victim was subsequently issued a medical form and received treatment as investigations progressed.

A police statement indicated that the accused persons, Nicholas Tetteh and Joseph Tetteh, were arraigned before the Gbetsile Circuit Court, presided over by Her Ladyship Eleanor Kakra Barn Botchway.

Both pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery and were each sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment with hard labour.

The police added that the accused will also be arraigned separately on rape charges once the Attorney-General’s advice is received.
