FDA alerts public over contaminated Italian-made sausages
In the Volta Regional capital, Ho, the Pavo Frankfurt brand of sausages was discovered during market surveillance, the FDA said.
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has announced a warning over the consumption of Agricola Tre Valli sausage products following their recall by Italian authorities.
The particular sausage brands, AIA Wudy and Pavo Frankfurt were found to have been contaminated with listeria bacteria.
In the Volta Regional capital, Ho, the Pavo Frankfurt brand of sausages was discovered during market surveillance, the FDA said.
“Two batches with codes 1785417 and 01810919 with expiration date November 30, 2022, are implicated. Considering the recall activities ongoing in Europe and other countries, the FDA has also conducted market surveillance activity and Pavo Frankfurt sausages with expiry date November 2022 were found in Ho, the Volta Region The products have since been detained for safe disposal,” the FDA noted in a statement.
The Authority further stated that although it has not found the AIA Wudy sausage brand on the markets, it urged persons “in possession of the above-mentioned products to immediately take them to either our Head Office or Regional Offices across the country.”
