Police announces GHS20,000 bounty on James Town bullion van robbers

Anyone with information that will lead to the arrest of the armed robbers who attacked the bullion van around James Town on Monday will receive GHS20,000, the Ghana Police Service has announced.

The Director of Public Affairs of Police, Supt. Sheila Kessie Abayie-Buckman announced this, as part of efforts to quickly clamp down on the perpetrators of the crime.

Supt. Sheila Kessie Abayie-Buckman also announced that the police are committed to protecting the safety of such informants who present credible information that will help the ongoing investigations. 

The Inspector-General of Police has announced a reward of GHS20,000 to any person who gives credible information to the police for the arrest of the perpetrators. In this regard, we assure informants of utmost protection of their identities.”

Earlier, the IGP visited the family of the policeman who passed away during the attack and pledged the commitment of the Police Service to leave no stone unturned until the perpetrators of the crime were arrested.

He told journalists, “We are investigating. I have instructed the CID to take over the case, and that is the level of seriousness we have attached to the case. So they have started investigations. And as I have indicated, we will definitely get them [perpetrators].”
