Police arrest nine over false claims of missing genitals

The Ghana Police have arrested nine individuals for allegedly spreading false news about the disappearance of their genitals. 

In a statement on Sunday, the police said the “publication of false” news by the suspects has caused fear and panic among the public and also led to attacks on innocent individuals.

“Police investigations, including medical examinations, disclosed that all the claims are false,” the statement said. 

Of the nine arrested, six persons resided in Kasoa, two in Ashaiman, and one from Nkwakwa in the Eastern Region. 

“Five have been arraigned before the court with three remanded into police custody and two granted bail. The rest are on Inquiry bail and would soon be arraigned before court,” the statement added.
