Two Nigerian TikTokers remanded in prison for calling Kano Governor corrupt

Two Nigerian men, Mubarak Muhammad and Nazifi Bala, were on Wednesday arraigned before the Kano Magistrate’s Court 58 for defaming the state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.

According to the First Information Report, the duo, in a video posted on Facebook, said the governor sells people’s land and oversleeps.

After the First Information Report was read to the defendants, they pleaded guilty.

The prosecutor, Wada Ahmad, applied for summary trial of the two defendants.

The court found them guilty and adjourned the matter till November 7, 2022, for sentencing.
