Wulomo, 2 others wounded after gunshots at Teshie shrine

The Wulomo(chief Priest) of Teshie and two others have sustained gunshot wounds after some unknown gunmen stormed the shrine where they were performing rituals ahead of the Teshie Homowo festival.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, June 20, 2021, when residents had visited the shrine to collect corn, to partake in the annual Homowo traditional rites.

Mr.John Adjetey Kommey, explained that they suddenly heard gunshots, throwing of stones and bottles at about 7:30 am when the chief priest was almost concluding traditional rites.

According to him, these armed men invaded the palace after the police had left to attack the chief priest and all who witnessed the rituals.

In the process, Wulomo and two others got injured and are waiting for a police report to go to the hospital.

Perpetrators of this act are not yet known.
