An Accra Circuit Court has granted a GH₵100,000.00 bail with two sureties to a former intern at the Ghana Police Hospital after posing as a medical doctor of the hospital.

The accused, Reghan Kaaie-Mabong is facing five counts – one for possession of a firearm without lawful authority, two counts of impersonation, and two counts of the threat of death.

According to prosecutors, the accused pulled a pistol at a security man and driver at the 2M Express Transport yard of the Kwame Nkrumah Circle after he was approached for allegedly urinating at the transport yard.

Prosecutors also said during interrogation, the accused claimed he was a medical officer at the Police Hospital. However, police checks said the accused was only an intern at the Police Hospital Pharmacy between October 2015 and June 2016 and hasn’t worked with the hospital ever since.

The accused who appeared in court without counsel pleaded not guilty to the charges and the court adjourned to May 17, 2022.
