Ghana School of Law to establish first Regional campus in Kumasi – Director
“So, with the expansion in Accra, do not shiver; there is no way we will put all our students in Accra; we will still maintain our campus in Kumasi,” he assured.
The Director of Legal Education and the Ghana School of Law, Barima Yaw Kodie Oppong, has indicated that the school will formally establish a campus in Kumasi, which would be the first regional campus in the country.
This, he said, was because the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, had renewed his commitment to designate a suitable location of land for this to commence.
Fear of closure of Kumasi campus
Speaking at the induction ceremony for the 2023–2024 academic year professional law students, Mr. Oppong thus took the opportunity to allay the fears of students bothered by the alleged closure of the Kumasi campus.
He stated emphatically that the school will still maintain the campus despite the expansion work at the Makola campus and thus urged the students to keep their cool.

The Director thus urged the inductees to comply with the rules of ethics and take their studies seriously.
Speaking on the topic “Importance of Legal Ethics,” a Justice of the Court of Appeal, Justice Samuel Obeng-Diawuo, urged lawyers to always be honest, humble, courteous, and accountable to clients always.
He added that the legal profession ought to impact critically on the governance system, and thus unethical acts by some lawyers will make the profession lose its significance.
