Man who allegedly faked robbery incident to steal boss’ GH₵ 69,000 granted GH¢40,000 bail
In a police statement on February 28, the accused, Godfred Kataso, is said to have claimed two young men robbed him at gunpoint around the National Theatre and made away with GH₵ 69,000. on February 11, 2022.
The Accra Circuit Court has granted a GH¢40,000.00 bail with three sureties to a man accused of allegedly faking a robbery attack to steal an amount of GH¢69,000.00 from his boss.
In a police statement on February 28, the accused, Godfred Kataso, is said to have claimed two young men robbed him at gunpoint around the National Theatre and made away with GH₵ 69,000. on February 11, 2022.
The police also indicated that their investigation established that the alleged robbery was a hoax and that the accused admitted to the offence in his cautioned statement.
However, when he appeared before the Court, he pleaded not guilty to charges of stealing and deceiving a public officer.
He will make his next appearance on March 29, 2022.
